Just over the Sea | Kent Family Photographer

Summer holidays are funny things aren’t they. They feel long but at the same time not long enough. They feel busy but some days are stay in pjs all day days. Somehow I feel I can never nail the summer holidays as it’s not like you can look back to the last summer hols to say ‘that worked well, let’s do that’, because your kiddies are all a whole year older and therefore the family dynamics are always shifting. However, one thing I know for sure about the summer holidays is that we as a family need to have some time just the six of us, whether it’s at home or away, and this year we managed to book a last minute jaunt over the sea to Northern France.
Having never been to this part of France before I didn’t really know what to expect but the coast line was simply beautiful and full of glorious long sandy beaches and we were also crazily blessed with a lot of sunshine (and therefore some insanely stunning sunsets) and all only 1 hour from Calais. We actually couldn’t believe it’s taken us so long to find it!
Here are a few of my favourite snaps from our time away (all taken on my Ricoh). I even managed to sneak into 3 of them (one of them isn’t my usual documentary style but makes me chuckle so had to include it)….
Places we visited: Merlimont, Stella La Plage, Wimmereaux, Citadel of Montreuil, Mini golf Merlimont, Mini Golf Le Touquet, Boulogne-sur-Mer Basilique Notre Dame.
