Dorothy and Justin's 30th Anniversary Celebration

Jayne Nottage

I have loved going through Justin and Dorothy's memories from their 30th anniversary celebration. Too many precious moments, funny glances and tear filled smiles to count.

When thinking back to this magical event three things particularly stuck out. Firstly Justin and Dorothy are one extra special couple. They'd written heart warming, mascara running, smile enhancing speeches to each other. I loved clicking away while tears rolled down my cheeks as they spoke of how they met, the journeys they've been on, the highs and the lows, becoming and being parents and what they love and admire about each other (note to self: buy some waterproof mascara for future celebrations). Secondly their family and friends where so wonderful and welcoming and made me part of the celebration. Lastly the weather had been AWFUL (and when I say awful I mean thunder and lighting and lots of rain) leading up until the Sunday but on their day the sun shone in all its glory and meant drinks, laughter and dancing could all be done while admiring the beautiful Westgate Gardens surrounding the venue

The afternoon began with Justin warmly welcoming their family and friends and then shortly after Justin and Dorothy reenacted the amazing Dirty Dancing dance to 'I've had the time of my life'. It was truly amazing and was met with many smiles and wolf whistles, move aside Patrick! The sit down meal was just a delight to see and as I mentioned the speeches where phenomenal. If Justin and Dorothy where to sell their speeches on the internet they could make a absolute killing. But not only did Justin and Dorothy make a speech but their sons, Will and Cameron, also demonstrated how they too have inherited their parents speech writing skills. The afternoon continued with more laughter, dancing and wonderful wonderful memories.

I really hope you enjoy looking through my favourites from the afternoon....
